We moved to Minnetonka Christian Camp in August of 2005 after being hired as co-directors. Our background in business and ministry is a wonderful combination for camp directors. We have two daughters, Debbie Dyer of Iowa Park, Texas and Darla Brim who lives in Brazil. We also have a daughter who went to be with our Lord in 2007. Additionally we have a total of 11 grand children. While we understand that Minnetonka is a ministry it must also be a business if the goals and objective of the camp Board of Directors are to be met. It is very difficult to reach a balance as we go about the business of running the camp. Neither one of us could achieve those goals without the other. Bernice has over 25 years of experience as a pastor's wife and thus has a great understanding of ministry requirements. Tom comes from the business world and deals with the realities of budgets, marketing, and improvements that are needed to move Minnetonka toward the established short and long term camp goals. Those two areas of responsibility, working together, are what will facilitate in the expansion of the camp ministry. For the first ten years of our marriage we prayed that we would find a place the Lord would use us in full time ministry. We feel that He found the place for us, not that we found the place to serve. Each day we waken with excitement that we will have another day to see Him work in peoples lives. Each day, we sometimes feel that He smiles as He knows what will happen that day and it is generally not what we had planned. Yes, what He had planned is always bigger than our smaller dreams and plans. We are blessed to know that we spent the majority of our lives preparing for our time here at Minnetonka Christian Camp and that our Lord trusts us to spend a few years at this place, in His service, where you truly 'Feel The Spirit'.

I graduated from Clayton High School in 1967 and joined the USAF in 1968. I spent 20 years in the military as an Air Traffic Controller and retired in 1989. I worked another 15 years as an Air Traffic Controller, opening new towers and airports. My wife Sandra, is also a Clayton Graduate. We have 3 children and 3 grandsons. I enjoy my work here at the camp as it is much less stressful and much more rewarding.

I graduated from Clayton High School in 1999 and have worked the past 7 years in landscaping and carpentry. I enjoy working outdoors and love outdoor activities like fishing and hunting. The country life if perfect for me which makes my job here at the camp great.

I am from College Station, TX. This will be my first summer at Minnetonka and I am
really looking forward to it! I have three sons who shared their youth groups with me
as they were growing up. So, I have had the blessing of working with young people for
a very long time and love having them in my life and watching them reach their potential!
My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the
Lord...to give you a hope and a future." I know He has used Camp Minnetonka to help
shape the future of hundreds for His glory. My prayer is for this summer to be another
memorable one and that He will use me in every way He sees fit. See you soon!

Raymond & Claire

Raymond and Claire live in Wichita Falls Texas, where they are members of Anchor Baptist Church, pastor Charles Bartlett. They help plan activities and trips for their Sunday School class and work regularly in Children's Church and the nursery.
Raymond was born in Wichita Falls, but Claire being raised in an Air Force family, got there in 1962 where she met Raymond in high school.
They raised three children, Tammy, Robin and Ray, who all have happy memories of going to Minnetonka every summer. Of their ten grandchildren, nine have had the Minnetonka experience. They also have one great-granddaughter.
In his spare time, Raymond likes to work on stained glass projects and Claire likes to oil paint and do all sorts of crafts.
Since Raymond retired in 2006, he and Claire have been doing some traveling and home remodeling. Besides visiting grandchildren in Arkansas and New Mexico, they spent two months living in their travel trailer, working as park hosts at Galveston Island State Park. Claire got to fulfill a dream of teaching crafts on the mission field when she spent two weeks with the Gagnons in Honduras this past January. She also has had the privilege of teaching crafts to the ladies for the past seventeen years at the Missions Camp at Minnetonka.
One of Raymond's favorite verses is Mt. 5:16 and Claire's is Col.3:17

Hello, my name is Katie Smith, and this is my 2nd year to work at Minnetonka. I am from Slaton, Texas, and I attend the Bible Baptist Church there. I have been coming here since I was 10. I love working here and making new friends each week. I think that one of the three greatest gifts God gave us, behind Salvation and Love, is the gift of Laughter. I love laughing and making other people laugh, and I will laugh at anything remotely funny- I am prone to long fits of laughter especially when I am tired. When I'm not at camp, I'm wishing I were there. |

Hello peoples...My name is Katie Rankin. I'm from Slaton, TX and attend Bible Baptist Church. This is my 2nd year to work at Minnetonka. When I was younger, coming to Minnetonka was my absolute favorite thing to do and so working here is a dream come true. Every week is a blessing because you get to meet new people, make friends, and most of all, share about the Lord. One of my favorite things to do is to make everybody smile and laugh and here at Minnetonka; I have the opportunity to do so daily. Minnetonka is the most awesome place to be...you can really "Feel the Spirit." |

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Kirby. I'm in the 10th grade. My favorite subject is Math, and I'm in the Who's Who of the High School Association. When I am home I play with my new puppy Andrea. I am very active in our youth group at Faith Baptist and I'm in the leadership program. I am very excited to be a part of Camp Minnetonka this summer.

My name is Solomon White. I am 19 years old and I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Though the land of enchantment is my current residence I wasn’t always a desert dweller. I grew up in the small town of Wichita Falls, Texas before I moved to San Antonio when I was 15. I lived in San Antonio for two years and I’m coming up on two-years in Albuquerque. All through grade school and high school I went to camp Minnetonka every year I could. When I was a baby my father was a youth pastor and I would go with the youth group he took. That started my fascination of Minnetonka. My father went to the camp when he was a kid so Minnetonka has been a big part of my family my whole life. I am very blessed to have the opportunity to work at the same camp that has contributed so much to my spiritual growth and Christian worldview. I look forward to imparting the wisdom and teaching that I have accrued over the years to the next generation of Christ’s precious remnant. |

Mary Amon

Hello everyone! My name is Mary Amon and I am 17 years old. I live in Irving , Texas and attend Irving Baptist Church . I am the youngest in my family. I have three older brothers who have families of their own. My oldest brother, Matthew, is in the National Guard and will be deployed to Iraq this summer. Michael is in the Navy and is deployed in the Pacific. My brother Mark is in the Army and is stationed in Hawaii . I have three nieces and three nephews, ages 2-7. My father works for the state of Texas as an auditor and my mother is a preschool teacher for Berean Christian Academy .
I attend Stonegate Christian Academy where I just completed my sophomore year. My favorite subjects are Spanish and Physics. I am also involved in sports and was a nun in the school's production of The Sound of Music.
My church took the youth department to Camp Minnetonka . When I was 11 years old I accepted Christ into my heart after chapel one evening. Due to my experience, I get excited about other kids coming to the Lord while at camp.
This will be my second year to work at Minnetonka . I love working here and being able to meet new people and make new friends. However, the main thing is to get closer to God. |
